Cynthia Connolly Photogs showed at Transformer Gallery in April and May 2005. Transformer is in an older store-front in Washington, DC. The concept of this show was created specifically for this space. The title, "Cynthia Connolly Photogs." was in reference to many of the store names in Alabama where the person's name was emblazoned clearly on the sign, and the things that they sold were abbreviated. For example, a building I shot in Huntsville said, "Leon Lipscomb Gro." The exhibit had shelves on one side and a wall of larger framed prints were on the other side of the gallery. I had frames made so the photos could stand on their own, and they rested on the shelves, like in a store and were divided into categories. (People, Buildings, Signs, Food, Nature) The viewer can move the photos around on the shelves and look at them. The back of each photo had the title and "inventory number".
